DANGAL... SOMEONE SHOULD HELP ME, I HAVE BEEN SHEDDING TEARS ALL DAY

PLEASE HELP ME, I'VE BEEN SHEDDING TEARS ALL DAY

1 have a confession to make, I've been all tears all day. Its been long i felt emotional this way. Yes, I'm about to confess. No, I didn't rob a bank, ALL I DID WAS  SEE A MOVIE. Yeah, you read the right thing. I saw a movie today and I've been teary all day. I saw an Indian movie (that's my Favorite though) today, after a very long time.

DANGAL is not your random kinda movie. Kindly follow me as i take you through the journey of the reason for my tears.

DANGAL is a story about a man who had a dream of becoming an International Wrestler for India, but he stopped at the National level because his country didn't support him financially.

So, he kept this dream with him. And when he got married, he was always expecting a male child to live his dreams but a boy wasn't forth coming. After trying countless means, he kept giving birth to  female children.
He was already giving on his dreams up until one day. Some parents came to his house to make a complain of how his first two daughters (Geeta and Babita) dealt with their sons blue - black.. He apologized to the parents but he just got an EUREKA - so i was busy looking for a male child, not knowing that IT DOESN'T TAKE A MALE CHILD TO WIN, GREATNESS (wrestling in this case) IS NOT GENDER SPECIFIC.

Gbam, it dawn on him that the spirit of wrestling is in his first two daughters. Your guess is as good as mine... He called them one night and asked how they were able to beat up those boys.. The innocent girls were explaining to their father and he was just blushing in fulfilment all through. He asked them to be ready to have their favourite treat (chocolate) the next day. So, he gave them a nice treat and explained to them that would be the last time they would be tasting that. Chocolate don't make great Wrestlers, he explained to them. I am making you become Wrestlers.

Long story cut short, he started training them night and day, he was mocked for forcing his daughters to become Wrestlers. The daughters were mocked in school and on the street. Their mother got emotional but the man begged her to give him just one year to PROVE HIS POINT.

He went as far as cutting their long hair, sewing trousers for them for effective training.

Before long, they started fighting local competitions and they lost to no one.
His first daughter won at the National level and was qualified for the International level.
So, she traveled to the International academy and that was where the issue started.

She had to BE TRAINED BY ANOTHER COACH, her father wasn't allowed in .

Before long, she was exposed to the International life and she started thinking her father wasn't good enough. She went to grow her hair, she started eating chocolate, she was waking up by 7am instead of 5am as trained by her father.   So, when she went home for break before the International fight, she was flaunting her new exposure, telling everyone that there's more to wrestling than her father knows, she was teaching people her new skill, she told her younger Sister that her father doesn't know much but the young lady protested.

Before long, her father caught her teaching people different things, he got angry at her and she got into a professional fight with her dad in his camp while people were watching.. After a long struggle, she was able to beat her dad. Her father felt very bad but Geeta was happy..

When they got back home that night, her father wasn't excited.. Babita (the younger Sister) called Geeta (the elder Sister) aside to explain to her that she ought not to have done that to their father yesterday. Regardless of what she knows now, she shouldn't forget it was her father who brought her that far. She wasn't listening, so she left home for the International fight...

Her younger Sister was back at home, she wrestled as instructed by her father and she also won at the National level, now qualified for International stage.

She noticed her father wasn't happy, so she promised him she won't forget her source.

When she got to the International Academy, she saw a different lifestyle but she wasn't yielding. She saw people just eating and having fun instead of training. Even her elder Sister was busy painting her nails.

Her elder Sister went for her first International fight before the major fight and she lost. So, the younger Sister had to tell her Sister to humbly call her father to apologize and ask for His help.. While they were having this discussion, a scene was also happening at home where their mother was begging the father to please forget about what happened and support her. In this atmosphere, the girls called home and the father was excited to help, they were all back together again. OH, I'm trying hard to cut this short but Its too loaded..

The father showed up at the academy but he wasn't allowed in, he had to get an apartment close to the academy just to be privileged to see his daughters at intervals and give them his own personal training. The Elder Sister had to humbly cut her hair again, she stopped eating chocolate, she got back to waking up by 5am for a 2 hour training with her dad before the whole academy comes together for their training by 7am.

The coach at the academy got to know and he was angry. The father settled it with wisdom and continued with his daughters. So, on the big day for the training, she was in the ring... The academy coach obviously was just a figure head because his own dream was to just have any medal if its to come 3rd but the goal of that man is for his daughters to go get the GOLD.

Your guess is as good as mine, the girl was getting INSTRUCTION from two people but she gave deaf years to her coach. Her father had been with her for years so he knew her strength and how to get her win. So with his leading, after a tough wrestle, she was able to make this dream materialize, by getting India her FIRST GOLD EVER, it was at this point i got teary when i saw the sense of FULFILMENT on the face of her father..

Did i tell you that, the coach was envious of the way she was listening to her father, so on that big day, after the first two round of listening to her father and Winning, they had a break and before they could get back, the coach already arranged to get her father locked up, so he won't be there to take the glory or communicate with the girl but it was too late for her to lose , even in the physical absence of her father she still WON because of what He has instilled in her over time.. After the Victory, the father was released and he ran to embrace his daughter at the ring, OH THAT PART GOT ME ALL TEARS, the girl removed the Gold medal on her neck and gave it to her father. OH, I'm shedding tears again, Oh my.....
There's SO MUCH to LEARN from this movie......

  What can you LEARN???

Let me go and get something to treat my tears. OH my my
